Tracker and the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)

Tracker products offer the flexibility to conform to your organization's workflows as well as those defined in PMBOK.

The original PMBOK document was published by the Project Management Institute as a white paper in 1987. It was an attempt to document and standardize information and practices utilized in project management. Today, the PMBOK� Guide is an internationally recognized standard (IEEE Std 1490-2003).

Tracker Products and PMBOK

The PMBOK Guide is process-based. These processes overlap and interact throughout a project or its various phases. Processes are described in terms of:

"Inputs" - such as documents, plans and designs.
"Tools and Techniques" - which are applied to the inputs.
"Outputs" - such as documents and products.

There are 44 processes that PMBOK identifies as common to most projects. These processes fall into 5 basic process groups and 9 knowledge areas.

The flexibility of Tracker products allow them to conform to the organization's existing workflows as well as within the guidelines of PMBOK.

The knowledge areas the Tracker modules may be utilized in include:

Project Time Management - Time Tracker.
Project Cost Management - Expense Tracker, Purchase Tracker.
Project Human Resource Management - Personnel Tracker.
